Narrator: Each day, the world's most important information flows into
the oval office. And when the Chief of State travels out into the world as our
principle representative, he must carry at his fingertips a vast
fund of ever changing information about nations and relations and people.
Jimmy Carter: This will be the 4th Economic Summit
Conference and I approach it with optimism.
Narrator: Whether at an economic summit or at a funeral of a Japanese
Prime Minister, President Carter represents this nation with
intelligence and dignity. He has built an enduring relationship
with the Peoples Republic of China and he has established
a working friendship with a range of world leaders.
Like many Americans, they have come to respect the dedication,
the humanity, and the good sense of President Jimmy Carter.
